Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan let go of her walking stick on Sunday, only to pick up a cricket bat. Awan, who was injured in a car accident in December last year, took to the pitch as she inaugurated the Benazir Bhutto Women Cricket Tournament in Lahore.

She is injured yet she came, took bat and hit the ball, while wearing different shoes. She swung the bat to hit the first ball she ever faced in her life, she stumbled prompting her entourage to swiftly come to her aid and steady her. She then braced to face her second ball, which she also could not play. By the third ball, however, Awan understood the ropes of the game and managed to hit the ball. Encouraged, she then asked for a fourth ball, which she also hit past the crease.
