Arfa's case - Microsoft hired doctors review

Bill Gates, once he met the world youngest Microsoft Certified Professional Arfa Karim Randhawa now 16, was very happy knowing and meeting this talented young Pakistani girl when she was 9. Media reports says that Bill Gate now has contacted to Arfa's parents and doctors to take every action and try best for her treatment. Bill Gates also expressed to shift Arfa to US for treatment and provide full financial help. But Express Tribune reported that Arfa's father denied Gates contact.

A doctor’s team was hired by Microsoft to consult with doctors of Aarifa Karim – the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MSF) – in Pakistan to overview her condition, confirmed Aarifa’s father Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Randhawa, Express Tribune reported.

Geo News report said that Amjad Karim Randhawa, the father of ailing Arfa, told media that the Microsoft head Bill Gates has contacted him by phone and asked about Arfa's situation. Gates expressed wish about Arfa's treatment in the US. But Express Tribune reported that Arfa's father Lt Col (r) Amjad  Karim Randhawa denied media reports that Bill Gates has contacted him personally. He told to media persons that US doctors have contacted to review the case of Arfa's illness.

US doctors are satisfied on Arfa's treament being done at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Lahore. Arfa was admitted in the CMH on 22 Decemeber 2011 after suffered an epileptic attack on December 22 last year which affected her brain and her heart causing her to slip into a coma. She has been on a ventilator since then.

Samples from Aarifa, including scans of her brain were mailed to renowned medical experts in Australia and other countries earlier, while Professor Dr Azhar Hussain, a neurosurgeon at the King Edwards Medical University, Lahore had said that her case was “not hopeless” after reviewing her condition.

Aarifa, born in 1995, was given the title of a Microsoft professional at the age of nine in 2004 and she had visited the company’s headquarters in the US to meet Gates.
