Afghanistan after ten years of US attack

It has been ten years since the US attack on Afghanistan. But the attack was just for Osama Bin Laden to kill or arrest him. While Osama has been killed but US still fights a meaningless war which they name as "War on terror". So many people know that it's a war against Islam and Pushtoon's not against Osama or Al-Qaeda and Taliban.

At a glance on the previous situation you will know how much US succeeded in its mission and how much Afghanistan changed? What is the betterment came? And how much people of Afghanistan are satisfied?

One side where the social sector and issues have improved but the on the other side the security situation is bad. Education and other social issues are going towards betterment but security and human rights issues are too bad.

 Social Sector:

Although the social sector is better than the past but it has still to be improved more. about one million children were in schools (education) ten years before but today this number has been increased up to more than seven million. Roads has been built and even more are in construction. The electricity system is going onwards. Education, women rights and social issues are those sectors in which have been improved.

 Security Situation:

Security is a big issue which is too much in bad condition. It effects other sectors and neighbour countries particularly Pakistan. Most of war and military operations are faced by rural areas where US and NATO forces raid in the night to arrest or kill the Taliban commanders and common people are effected badly. Common people say that only innocent afghans are killed.
The assassination of Burahanuddin Rabbani, the killing of Ahmad Wali (brother of Afghan president H Karzai) and attacks on H Karzai (himself) show that the high profile personalities and government officer are not safe in even in their homes.

 Human Rights Situation:

Ten years before, the human rights situation was in very poor and bad condition and were completely spoiled by Taliban; the organizations say. But today a lot of improvement is seen in this sector.

But Taliban and even common people claim and say that there were full justice during the Taliban government.
The woman rights situation is however much better than the past. But international organizations and institutions are afraid that with the withdrawal of US and NATO forces the woman rights will be violated and spoiled once again. Afghan government will be unable to improve the woman rights. And US maybe ignore this issue in the talks with Taliban.

 Talks with the Taliban:

After few years when US knew that they can't win the war by weapons and war. They changed their policy and came to the negotiation with the Taliban. US knows that if force leave Afghanistan without talks with the

Taliban. They (Taliban) will take over the new government and a big civil war will be raised as well. And Al-Qaed will also expend and extend their mission. Thus the region will face a big security issue. Therefore US came to the table to talk with the Taliban.

But the Rabbani assassination spoiled the peace negotiation very much. It is really great loss in the peace negotiation process with the Taliban. - The situation of uncertainty will exist until the killer is unknown. If Taliban killed him then the question raised is; "why to talk with the killer of ex-president?" Taliban believe as they will fight and take over after the US and NATO forces withdrawal.

But Taliban should know that the new generation of Afghanistan will never like them again and they will alone as same as they were in the decade of 1990. And the Taliban leadership will really want to be a part of the new government and Afghan society.

 Role of Pakistan:

Since the last few decades Pakistan face the effects of Afghan war. Thousands of refugees are living in Pakistan without any visa or passport. But Pakistan suffers very hard and difficult situation since the last ten years. Afghan government, US, India and many of Afghan people blame Pakistan for supporting Taliban to fight against NATO, US & Afghan National Force (Mili Urdu). Since the last couple of weeks the US high officials and H Karzai himself blame Pakistan for the assassination of Rabbani and supporting the Haqqani Network. Although Taliban and Haqqani Network refused to be supported by Pakistan yet Aghanistan and US blame Pakistan. One thing is very clear that Pakistan suffers the Taliban (live in Pakistan) more than Afghanistan. Pakistan faced and faces big problems and security issues today too and beard big losses. That is why Pakistan says that "A peaceful Afghanistan is our favour."

 Success:
The Afghan war launched by US ten years before is said to be successful if and only if:

• The provincial and local governments have full control (instead of central government).
• There is no corruption in civil government and Afghan National Force (Security forces).
• The Afghan National Security Force is much strong and can take the security responsibilities.

 Hope:

International analysts says we can hope that Afghanistan will welcome a peaceful and happy tomorrow. Because H Karzai will not fight presidential election for the third time. So a new president will lead in a better way than H Karzai. And there is now seen much improvement in the National Security Force. But the force will not be able to fight alone. US will hand over the security responsibilities to the Afghan forces in 2014.
